A couple of subtle tweeks I’d like to do, but the biggest difference is getting the bass traps in. If you read online the opinions about WhisperRooms, you may find that “they are great if you can afford them, but once you get one you won’t like it because of it’s boxy sound”. Well, you already know that I bought the booth at a tremendous discount and I bought bass traps for half price off of Ebay. Yeah, I cut corners whenever I can. The bottom line is that there is a big difference before and after the bass traps are installed. A tip I learned from WhisperRoom had to do with using Velcro to attach the Auralex foam and the bass traps – 1) when applying the velcro to the Auralex, make sure to press hard, harder, REALLY HARD!!, DID I MENTION REALLY REALLY HARD?!!!, then 2) let the adhesive set for about 24 hours before affixing in the booth. The first time around half the panels fell to the floor with the Velcro pieces still hanging on the wall. The adhesive apprarently didn’t have a chance to settle.
